1. What we aim for

We design and test to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In practice that means:

  • every page and lesson can be used with a keyboard, with visible focus;
  • headings, labels and live announcements for screen readers, including which key or note to play next;
  • colour is never the only signal, and text meets contrast guidelines in light and dark themes;
  • pages work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens;
  • animations are reduced when your device asks for less motion, or when you turn on reduced motion in Settings.

2. Known limitations

  • Some games depend on quick reactions. Lessons let you go at your own pace, and you can repeat any exercise.
  • Some piano diagrams in the connect guide are detailed pictures; each has a text description.
  • Learning with the microphone needs a reasonably quiet room, which may not suit everyone. A cable, Bluetooth or the on-screen piano works instead.
  • Downloaded sheet music (PDF) may not be fully accessible to screen readers; the same music is available in the app.

3. Feedback and help

If something is hard to use, or you need information in another format, use the contact page (Contact) or email [email protected]. Tell us the page, your device and any assistive technology you use.

Typano is provided by the Typano team. Contact: [email protected] or the contact form.
